Are you often bloated, have challenging bowel habits, often constipated, are always worried about what to eat because so many foods seem to leave you feeling uncomfortable or unwell?
This is my area of nutritional expertise and as a Nutritionist, I have a wealth of experience in nutrition to help my patients with:
- Digestive and bowel health challenges,
- Food intolerances
- Healthy, lasting weight loss,
- Supportive programmes for people affected by cancer,
- Pre-diabetes and diabetes to help them stabilise their blood sugar.
I also work with many other areas of health to support better health through nutritional and lifestyle changes
I have a degree in Nutritional Medicine and have spent more than 10 years building a busy practice in the delightful village of Shouldham in Norfolk, where I help and support people with many health conditions and they then often go onto become completely symptom free.
I attended and completed the AFMCP™-UK (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice™), training in London in 2017 and then in 2019 a module in gastro-intestinal support. In 2021 I added 2 further Functional Medicine modules – The Immune System and the Cardio-Metabolic module. I am now studying to complete my final Functional Medicine Certification by taking 3 other modules for completion by 2024.
The Institute for Functional Medicine teaches health care professional’s how to apply the principles of Functional Medicine in practice through intensive training and practitioners gain valuable skills to support their patient’ health in the best way.
Functional medicine assesses the functionality of all systems of the body to evaluate the root cause of the health issues of each patient. It uses signs and symptoms, the patient’s health story and evidence of clinical imbalances to understand and design an individualised nutritional plan to improve all patient’s overall health. This is not a single treatment for a single diagnosis, but plan to support the ‘whole’ person.
The passion that drives my work is seeing people feel well again and helping them to lead healthier, happy and more fulfilled lives.
I also work with many people to get great results losing weight in a healthy lasting way, increasing energy, reducing tiredness and giving them back a joy of living
All my weight loss programmes follow ‘the way our bodies were designed’, by:
- eating nutrient rich ‘real’ foods,
- enjoying ‘real’ flavours and foods that support health,
- learning how your body works and
- balancing your blood sugar for regular sustainable weight loss and increased energy. This way of eating is not just ‘a weight loss diet’ but a way of eating for life so you never need to `go on a diet’ again.
- It’s about eating ‘real ‘ delicious foods, re-educating your taste buds to enjoy foods how nature intended, enjoying life and feeling more energetic, having better mood, reducing stress and gaining better concentration.
I am committed to working with you to set individual targets and get the results you want. I provide coaching to help you take control of your health and weight and support you through all the challenges along the way, to ensure you change the habits of a life-time and make lasting changes for your long-term health.
My focus is always on customer care and each individual’s needs.
I work with a group of Functional Medicine Doctors and practitioners at The Northern Centre of Integrative and Functional Medicine (NCIFM) where I provide a clinic twice a month, I also have a clinic at the Green Parrot at Swaffham once a week and the remainder of the week I work from my own clinic, Orchard Clinic, in Shouldham. Each week I provide a diabetes support group for our local Primary Care Network through the NHS.
I also provide regular seminars online and in person, workshops, local spa days and talks to groups and organisations. I work with several charities – The Brains Trust, More Horizons, Penny Brohn Cancer Care and other local charities. I regularly provide corporate healthcare packages to local companies, nutrition advice in schools, nutrition programmes in local prisons, appear in local radio interviews and write regularly for local magazines.
I am a fully insured practitioner and a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy.
I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, the UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners.
I have a PTLLS qualification and several public health qualifications for supporting health, food safety and hygiene.
With a passion about the enormous health benefits of good nutrition, my mission is for you to experience these health benefits, by providing you with the structure and support for
‘Helping you to better Health’.
